Ukrainian ambassador to Germany threatens German MEP Marcus Pretzell on twitter

The Ukrainian ambassador to Germany, Andrij Melnyk, threatened German MEP Marcus Pretzell from the sovereignist party “Alternative für Deutschland” (AfD) via twitter. Melnyk said: Pretzell´s recent “illegal visit to occupied Crimea” will have “consequences”. The Ukrainian ambassador did not explain what type of consequences.

MEP Marcus Pretzell answered on twitter with an ironic remark: “My first experiences as an ´illegal´” with the hashtags “#refugee” and “#hartekerle” (“tough guys”)

On March 16, 2014 a large majority (96.77% of the 81,37% voter turnout) of the population of Crimea voted in favor of independence from Ukraine and joining Russia as a federal subject. On March 18, 2014, the independent Republic of Crimea signed a treaty of accession to the Russian Federation.
